Joris van Baren
Director Depositary Services
Joris joined Vistra in 2018 and has been promoted to Director Depositary Services per January 2022. He leads the Dutch depositary team out of the Vistra Amsterdam office and is responsible for the (legal) operations & communications with the regulator.
Prior to joining Vistra he worked in the insurance business and had legal roles at various trust companies, gaining over eight years’ experience in Private Equity / Real Estate and other alternative investments. Under Joris’ supervision Vistra obtained its AIFMD Depositary license and expanded the scope of the depositary services to Fund of Funds, Private Debt and Shipping Funds.
Joris holds a Master’s degree in Business Law from the Utrecht University (2010)
His native language is Dutch but he also speaks fluent English.
