Vistra appoints Abdel Hmitti as Managing Director and Global Head of Funds

Reporting to William Douglas, Vistra's Chief Commercial Officer, Abdel's addition to the team marks a significant milestone in Vistra's growth journey.

We work with almost 70% of Private Equity International’s top 300 funds and with Abdel’s wealth of experience, he will be an invaluable leader in guiding the development of new services and offerings to further support our clients. We’re also excited about Abdel's plans to relocate to the US later this year to expand our funds solutions in this critical market.’

Vistra’s funds solutions help private capital deploy faster around the world, delivering superior Limited Partner (LP) experiences and enhancing operational efficiency. With Abdel's appointment and the recent expansion of Vistra’s funds business following their merger with Tricor, Vistra solidifies its position as a global leader in funds services. 

In his new role, Abdel will lead Vistra's funds business, overseeing the teams responsible for commercial, relationship management, product development, and digital solutions. He will guide the strategic direction of the business unit, driving innovative product development and ensuring a best-in-class digital experience for Vistra's clients. Abdel's efforts will leverage cutting-edge fund accounting software and Vistra's investor servicing portal.

Abdel joins from State Street where since 2007, he held senior management roles in both the US and Europe and was most recently the Head of Private Markets in EMEA. He focused primarily on middle and back office operations and relationship management in the Alternative Investment Services unit. Prior to State Street, he held management and leadership positions at Investors Bank & Trust.
