Vistra’s new era of AI and platformisation

From our founding, Vistra has journeyed toward seamlessness. The latest leg of this journey is a momentous leap in the pursuit of this goal.

As we launch the Vistra Global Expansion Platform (GEP) and Geni, the world’s first global AI compliance advisor, we embark on a new era of technologically enhanced value add that not only represents a revolution for our clients, but also a reimagining of our own business model.

At Vistra, our purpose is progress and we fulfil it by solving our clients’ global problems with truly global solutions. But achieving our vision to make operating anywhere in the world feel borderless and frictionless requires something unique: a global business operating system. Imagine something similar to the OS on the phone in your pocket, running in the background, staying up to date with changing regulations and efficiently taking care of administration tasks, allowing you to focus on your goals and accelerate your ambitions. It would be a genuine game-changer.

Given the nature of our service, the way we interact with clients is central to our effectiveness. We have always provided top-tier support for clients operating multiple legal entities across a range of jurisdictions and locations. A platform future doesn’t change that; if anything, it makes our peoples’ expertise and real-life support more accessible  than ever before. What shifts dramatically is that our clients will now have the optionality, convenience and transparency of consuming our services in ways that suit them, wherever and whenever they need them through a modern, simple and powerful interface.

Global entity management has been our starting point, but soon clients will be able to manage their payroll, tax accounting and ultimately access all Vistra Global Solutions with GEP and Geni—as easily as ordering a ride through Uber or a meal through Grab.

Non-core, non-discretionary

Vistra specialises in what we call non-core but non-discretionary tasks. If your business is to build and distribute green energy technology, for example, you may need to operate in multiple jurisdictions to benefit from global energy-related incentives and have anywhere from 50-100 or more global entities. But that comes with the increased risk of keeping up with regulatory obligations in all countries of operation, which for a heavily regulated sector such as energy, is complex to navigate and could halt your operations if mismanaged.

Without Vistra, you may have needed to find a lawyer, accountant and company secretary in each jurisdiction. A single provider brings better visibility and much less onerous admin. With Vistra, you can rely on our services to carry out the compliance duties that previously might have been tracked and managed through a matrix of spreadsheets and servers. And now, with the introduction of GEP and Geni, all that management is simplified even further, allowing users to execute tasks through a single point of contact—so your people can focus on improving energy product efficiencies, managing the supply chain and winning new customers.

Automation and trust

Key to this revolution in usability is the advanced automation and human trust that underpins our system.

A powerful AI trained on expert and accurate sources, Geni doesn’t just enable compliance—she answers complex questions authoritatively, offers time-saving assistance with self-serve tasks and keeps users up to date on upcoming tax and compliance deadlines. Specially trained by Vistra’s own experts, Geni is a compliance expert in her own right—as opposed to a more generally trained AI such as ChatGPT that will have a familiarity with subject matter but not deep understanding.

Geni works hand-in-hand with our people, not instead of them. Geni's advanced automation only adds true value when she works together with Vistra experts who can offer the personal support that truly engenders trust. At the end of the day, Vistra is an organisation of people who help people get things done. That won’t change, it will just be naturally enhanced by Geni and the platform.
