Technology for reliable compliance in a complex world
If you consider technological innovation, corporate services isn’t usually the first industry that springs to mind. Historically, our industry has earned the opposite reputation: one of traditionalists, somewhat mistrustful of technology and committed to their long-held disciplines and practices.
At Vistra, we don’t see technology and legacy in conflict. A tool like AI doesn’t threaten the human experts that make up the core of our value proposition. Rather, we seek to harness this powerful technology to the ultimate benefit of our clients by optimising their own processes, leveraging specialist and timely training on significant macroeconomic events such as recent US tariff developments, and actively monitoring the compliance landscape for new issues. That is how we view our Global Expansion Platform (GEP) with the AI compliance advisor, Geni.
Our teams are the best in the world, but that skill level means nothing if it doesn’t translate into client success – and these days, the productivity amplification that comes with AI is becoming an essential multiplier to facilitate that success.
Our goal, then, is to deploy AI in a way that enhances the effectiveness of our experts, freeing them up to tackle the problems, solutions and relationships that are beyond the scope of machines.
For Vistra, 100% reliable compliance is the baseline. Our clients rightly expect this level of performance at the very least. AI will help ensure we meet that baseline in a more efficient manner. It can then allow our experts to leverage their knowledge, expertise and deep technical skills to add value for clients at levels previously unanticipated.
The combination of Geni and GEP means clients can get a lot more of their work with us done in a lot less time. But efficiency isn’t our only goal. We seek to be as valuable to our clients as possible – so the convenience of an automated interface is a bonus but not the core of our proposition.
Essentially, AI can be the treatment for a labour-intensive compliance problem, generating company secretarial documents or statutory accounts in minutes rather than hours. But the one activating and supporting that treatment is still a human – an experienced Vistra expert well versed in the specific nuances of the jurisdiction in which they operate.
Vistra’s value comes from the deep expertise and on-ground sensibilities of our global network of experts. Geni isn’t the one talking to business leaders, identifying and analysing trends and building talent networks to get things done. That’s a human job, which our people do in every market we serve.
As the world grows more complex and regulations change at a faster rate, larger scale businesses require more powerful and versatile tools to do compliance. To this end, we are still working to build Geni’s capabilities - training her on tasks and on series of tasks to enable her to automate processes in an intelligent way.
Through the development of Geni, Vistra is adding value by automating the processes that can be automated and by enabling more premium and tailored services from our experts, who now have more versatility than ever to grow relationships with our clients and execute on their behalf. It’s a winning proposition for both our people and our clients.
