Why did you join Vistra?
I joined Vistra Belgium in 2012 because I was looking for a new career challenge. I have a background in corporate banking and energy, and I felt the role at Vistra perfectly met my ambitions and was an opportunity I was glad to accept.
Can you share a significant Vistra career milestone that stands out for you?
I started off as an account manager and have since been promoted to senior account manager, focusing on business development.
What does ONE Vistra mean to you?
ONE Vistra offers a clear view of how to work within an international organisation. It focuses on being part of a team that shares a framework of ideas, as to who we are, what we stand for, and how we should interact with our colleagues and clients. ONE Vistra, is part of a well-defined set of values that are helping us achieve our goals and ambitions.
What motivates you to come to work every day – in the office or working from home?
What I find most motivating about my role, is the daily contact with clients, working on new proposals, sharing information, responding to questions and providing solutions where needed. Our collective efforts in committing to clients inspires me daily. Job satisfaction comes about when services are being appreciated, when complex issues can be solved in the interest of both clients and Vistra. Playing a significant role in meeting the client’s needs and contributing added value are the main drivers for me. In addition, I am part of a small team and while I can work at home, being in physical contact with my colleagues is of great value.
What does work-life balance mean for you at Vistra – do you think the concept of work-life balance has changed through the current crisis?
Our business is very dynamic, and most clients expect immediate follow up to their requests, which means that work can sometimes feel like it never stops. However, having a good balance between work and personal life is of great importance to me and my family, and I feel working at Vistra enables me to manage this balance well.
What has helped you stay focused – at work and personally – through the current crisis?
I try to stay optimistic, make the best of it and try to be in contact with colleagues and friends as much as possible and when it is safe to do so!
