Why did you join Vistra?
I joined Vistra Curacao in February 2012, when I moved to Curacao from my home country of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. I originally joined as a receptionist on a temporary contract. I was excited about the possibility of working at Vistra, because even though the team was small, it had a reputation for being one of the best trust offices on the island.
Can you share a significant Vistra career milestone that stands out for you?
In 2016, I was promoted to the position of Account Manager which was a significant milestone for me. The management team recognised that I had the necessary skills required to take on this new role which involved more responsibility and more direct interaction with our clients.
What does ONE Vistra mean to you?
To me, ONE Vistra means that I am working for a professional organisation, comprised of people from many different countries around the world with varying backgrounds, and that we are all working together towards one goal.
What motivates you to come to work every day – in the office or working from home?
I’m motivated to come to work because I know that each day brings the possibility of learning something new and increasing my industry knowledge. I enjoy being part of a team and collaborating on different client requests because it makes feel like I am contributing toward something greater than myself.
What has helped you stay focused – at work and personally – through the current crisis?
For me, maintaining contact with my colleagues when the country was in lock-down, really helped me stay focused. Vistra’s leadership team has managed the Covid-19 crisis well by keeping my colleagues and I updated on a regular basis and by implementing measures that have kept us safe. By doing the right thing, they have given me the peace of mind to focus on my work and continue to support our clients.
What Vistra value resonates with you the most?
Working as ONE Vistra resonates with me the most. Vistra Curacao is a small unit, however, we are strong and united. When confronted with a challenge or an issue we come together as one. We brainstorm and try to work out the issue. My colleagues are always willing to help guide and assist me.
