Karen has over 9 years of experience serving US and Scandinavian clients entering the Chinese market with extensive on-the-ground knowledge of WFOE establishments, technology transfer, IP litigation and cross border arbitration.
She is the Director of Business Development, Corporate & Private Clients of Vistra Hong Kong, focusing on serving Greater China on cross border corporate transactions and personal wealth matters. In addition to looking over the Business Development team, she covers China market entry for US and Finnish companies, China outbound investments, as well as private client work serving ultra-high networth Chinese individuals. Prior to joining the company, Karen was a China Tax Analyst at Centre for Financial Regulation and Economic Development under Professor Xu Yan.
Karen has a L.L.M Master of Laws in Chinese Law (The University of Hong Kong), a Continue Education Diploma in Tax Advisory covering HK, China and International Taxation (City University of Hong Kong), and a Bachelor of Arts in Globalization (International Business and Politics) (University of California at Santa Barbara). She is also the member of Hong Kong Federation of Women Lawyers, The Taxation Institute of Hong Kong, The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), Canadian Chamber of Commerce, The Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce (HKGCC), Finland Hong Kong Trade Association, German Chamber of Commerce and American Chamber of Commerce. She is native in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
