Director, Private Wealth
Ian Lim joined Vistra Singapore as Director, Private Wealth, Asia in 2021. He has more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry with a particular focus in the past decade as a senior wealth planning specialist with Singapore and Swiss private banks. He has previously worked for both independent and bank owned trust companies and understands their niches.
Ian has accumulated intimate knowledge of wealth structuring for clients in the Asia Pacific region. He has practical experience in helping clients establish regular family trusts and private trust companies to hold bankable and non-bankable assets, Pre-IPO and substantial listed companies’ shares, private funds and family office structures.
Ian is passionate about working with clients and their advisors to synthesize and craft wealth solutions which help clients achieve peace of mind and preserve family harmony. He has conducted training for banks next generation programme and enjoys interaction with these future clients who are keen on digital assets and sustainable investments with ESG metrics. Ian also finds it fulfilling to work with clients to implement a philanthropic component in their wealth plans that benefit charities or social enterprises.
Ian graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Finance from Michigan State University and holds a Master of Laws from the University of London. He is qualified a Trust & Estate Practitioner (TEP) and full member of STEP. Ian speaks English and Mandarin.
