Having worked in Asia for almost 25 years, Daniel has extensive experience in advising clients ranging from SMEs to large multi-nationals on international structuring, tax, cross-border investments, and practical approaches to doing business in Asia, particularly Hong Kong and China.
Prior to joining Vistra in 2010, Daniel served as Vice President and Chief Representative (Beijing) for another international trust and corporate services provider, and as Senior Sales Manager for Microsoft Corporation of Korea.
As Group Commercial Director, Asia, he provides leadership and strategic support to the Group’s Business Development activities across the Asian region. In addition to developing and strengthening new client and partner relationships, Daniel is also responsible for intra-Group cross-selling opportunities, initiating regional market entry strategies, and building a sustainable platform from which the Asia-based Business Development teams can achieve their objectives.
Daniel is an international public speaker on doing business in Asia and has advised organisations including banks, law firms, accounting firms, and government agencies. He is also a former director of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong and a member of the British Chamber of Commerce, the Dutch Chamber of Commerce, the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce, the Belgium-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce, and the Australian Chamber of Commerce.
Daniel, who has a Masters of Business (Management) from Monash University in Australia, is fluent in English, Mandarin and speaks Cantonese. Outside of work he alternates his time between family and practicing the dark arts of the front row on the rugby pitch for Typhoons RFC.
