Barry is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and the Chartered Institute of Taxation. Barry started his career in financial services in 1984. Following a period as a partner in a firm of accountants he retrained as a lawyer commencing his legal studies at the college of law in 1996 and then at Exeter University where he gained a LLM in International Business Law with distinction. More recently Barry completed several financial services exams and is now a member of the CFA UK and also an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment. Barry joined Royal Bank of Canada in 2002 before joining Vistra in October 2015.
In addition to acting in trustee general roles, Barry specialises in establishing and administering property trust structures. He also works closely with corporate finance firms, lawyers and other professional providers in the structuring of a range of property funds.
