Managing Director, Czech Republic and Slovakia
Barbora joined Vistra as the Managing Director of the Czech and Slovakia office in January 2024. Her key role would be visualisation of Vistra’s brand on Czech and Slovakia market, further extension of provided services with strong focus on the company’s transformation process from local provider of services towards the global company with centralized and fully digitalised processes and strong corporate governance.
Barbora began her career PWC assurance and had been working there for almost 17 years (last 4 years as a Senior Audit Manager). Her key responsibilities were providing the assurance services (i.e., audits of standalone FS prepared based on CZ GAAP and audits of consolidated FS prepared based on IFRS, assessment of quality of internal control processes, assistance with the preparation of statutory and IFRS FS, assessment of complex accounting matter etc.) for large private equity clients and for other clients (mostly from pharmaceutical/manufacturing/telecommunications and IT industry). She has over 16 years’ experience with managing the number of large and complex audit engagements, leading of various teams, analysing of financial data and budgeting and monitoring of profitability of engagements. This position required daily communication with client's top management, audit committees and board members, about the business and accounting matters, coordination of several teams all over the world, representation of PWC on conferences and social events and professional and effective leading and coaching of her teams.
Beside the clients’ related work Barbora acted as a mentor / coach for several younger colleagues and was helping them to further develop their technical, business, and soft skills. She also acted as a trainer and coordinator of PWCs’ local technical training (Czech GAAP training) and industry specific webinars.
In April 2023 she left PWC and joined Landis + Gyr s.r.o. as the EMEA Head of Accounting where she was mostly responsible for leading the month end close process for EMEA group (consisting of 22 entities), for the compliance of FS with the US GAAP accounting standards, for the harmonisation and simplification of business and accounting process, for the centralisation of accounting and processes in CR SSC and regular communication and coordination of activities within the EMEA region.
Barbora has a Diploma in Economic Studies from the University of Economics in Prague. She is specialist mostly in Czech GAAP / International Financial Reporting Standards and International Standards of Auditing (ISA). She has reached professional qualifications within these areas: statutory auditor registered in KACR, ACCA qualification and IFRS Diploma under ACCA.
Her native language is Czech, but she also speaks fluent English.
Barbora is fellow member of ACCA and member of Chamber of auditors in Czech Republic.
