Vistra LatAm Roundtable Series

Family enterprises: Latin America's growth engine

The Vistra LatAm team in London are pleased to announce the first in a series of events, The LatAm Roundtables.

Taking place on 15 March at the The Clubhouse in St James’s Square, the first event will explore the complexity of international family enterprises in the region, and take a look at the current landscape in Argentina and Brazil.

500 of the world’s largest family businesses are located in Latin America and an estimated 60% of the region’s GDP is generated by family enterprises. Facing legacy and younger economic, political, legal and regulatory challenges these, and smaller scale peers are increasingly exploring ways of international diversification. As a consequence London’s professional intermediary community is undertaking a collective effort in reviving and expanding its close historic ties with Latin American entrepreneurship.

Vistra have been managing international family enterprises in the region for over three decades, addressing corporate affairs and family related structuring matters. The event will feature several expert speakers from the Latin American community and is expected to shed some light on the following items:

  • Regional outlook by Jimena Blanco, Head of Americas Politics Research at Verisk Maplecroft
  • Family business in Argentina by Federico Cincotta, Partner at Cincotta Advisory & Trevor Turner, Director & Independent Financial Adviser at Turner Wealth & Consultancy Ltd
  • A closer look at Brazil’s highly mobile HWNI community in 2019 by Carlos Hawker, Partner at LCR Capital & Luiz Costa, Solicitor at Flechter Day

The end of the session will provide an opportunity for questions during the open floor discussion.
