The job holder is the escalation point for any client matters that require compliance technical or subject matter expertise. They are also the external face of Compliance Services in the local market, raising the profile of the business whilst ensuring that the Vistra Group, the local business and team members are kept up-to-date on any market changes that would affect either the business or our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all compliance and regulatory risk in the Dubllin office
  • To provide compliance risk analysis/advice and ensure challenge and independent monitoring and oversight is fulfilled

  • Provide appropriate and timely reporting on compliance and regulatory issues to Group Legal and Compliance, the senior group management in the region and relevant Boards of Directors within Vistra

  • Collaborate with Corporate and Group Compliance colleagues to help deliver effective compliance training and communication to all employees in Ireland

  • Be the main point of contact when liaising with the Regulatory Authorities in Ireland (and local Compliance in other jurisdictions as required)

  • Exercise due skill, care and diligence, observe proper standards of market conduct; dealing with regulators and key stakeholders in an open and co-operative manner

  • Ensure an understanding of Company strategy to enable proactive and risk-based compliance advice to facilitate business opportunities whilst always ensuring that the interests of the company are safeguarded

  • Work alongside the business to on-board new clients

  • Collaborate with colleagues in Mauritius, Group Compliance, Risk, Internal Audit, HR and Legal teams to perform routine and ad hoc monitoring, reporting, assurance and transactional advice to the business

  • Drive a culture within the team of continuous improvement focused on better service, operational efficiency, using technology and strong cost awareness

  • Assist the Directors and Senior Management team with business development enquiries where required

  • Act as MLRO to Vistra Alternative Investments (Ireland) Limited ensuring appropriate anti-money laundering systems and controls are in place within the business

Qualifications and other requirements

  • Recognised appropriate qualifications and memberships

  • Minimum of 5+ years compliance experience

  • Ability to communicate at all levels in the organisation and lead with confidence and clarity

  • Ability to apply regulatory and compliance requirements to the business in an efficient and business friendly manner

  • A creative problem solver able to work with the business to enable solutions

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with colleagues, drive and embed a culture of compliance in Ireland

  • Outstanding judgment and a willingness to exercise it and be assertive as necessary
