Vistra Sponsors Cancerbackup Golf Day.

This year’s Vistra Golf Day in support of Cancerbackup was a great success once again, raising over £12,000 for the charity which celebrates its 21st Birthday this year. The Captains’ Team, made up of John Hutchins, Sheila Smith, Claire Reid and Bob Bowden scooped first prize with 98 points, narrowly beating CCSS (Georgina Cottini, Eddy Cottini, Stacey Sarre and Roger Small) into second place with 96. It’s Magic (Richard True, Pauline True, Joe Francis, Mike Brooks) came third.

Cancerbackup Jersey was created to give cancer patients and their families and friends the up to date information, practical advice and support they need to reduce the fear and uncertainty of cancer. The money raised goes towards funding a Cancer Information Centre and Cancer Information Nurse Specialist.

Dennis Lavin, CEO for Vistra Jersey commented: "We are delighted to be helping Cancerbackup once again this year. The Golf Day was a great success in raising more than £12,000, and was such an enjoyable way to support a worthy cause. Cancer is an illness which unfortunately touches the lives of so many people in Jersey, and if we can help raise funds to make sure those people and their friends, relatives and colleagues have access to as much information and support as possible it’ll be a job well done. I would like to personally thank all those who took part, and we hope to see them again next year".
