Private Equity Fund Governance

Establishing Best Practices 2017 - The Manager & Investor Perspective

Over the past decade there have been a number of significant developments in the governance of private equity funds.

Vistra, in partnership with IFI Global, have conducted a worldwide research study with both Limited Partners (LPs) and General Partners (GPs).  The study reviews the current state of play in the private equity fund governance market from both an industry and investor perspective.

As well as being interviewed on the overall state of fund governance practices in the industry, LPs and GPs were also asked to give their opinions on LPAC (Limited Partnership Advisory Committee) development, co-investing, outsourcing, regulatory structures, domiciliation and various transparency matters.

LPs and GPs were interviewed in the Asia-Pacific region, continental Europe, the UK and North America. The GPs that were interviewed have a combined AUM of over  $150 bn.

IFI Global and Vistra would like to thank the many GPs and LPs who kindly gave up their time to participate in this study.
