Vistra Donates Bicycles to SOS Children’s Village in Vietnam

In October 2016, Vistra donated twenty bicycles to the SOS Children’s Home in Ben Tre, southern Vietnam, as part of a charitable team activity during our annual Partners’ meeting.

There are 14 SOS Children’s Villages in Vietnam where more than 3,400 children are taken care of. Vistra participated in a community investment programme initiative aimed at providing a safer means of transportation for children in one of the SOS Children’s Homes.

107 Partners and guests from around the globe participated and assembled twenty new bicycles at Van Thanh Village in Ho Chi Minh City, which were delivered to the Children’s village in Ben Tre on the same day.

As a non-governmental international development organization, SOS Children's Villages has been active in meeting the needs and protecting the interests and rights of children since 1949. The SOS Children’s village in Ben Tre provides children across different ages with a caring and loving environment, reassuring them that they are a valued part of society and the local community. The village has its own school offering children the education they deserve.

In Vietnam, cycling is a common method of transport and getting around. The bicycles that were donated by Vistra allow the children to safely cycle to and from school and give them the joy of having their own transport, an essential progression for individual independence and mobility.

Vistra is proud to have had the opportunity to work with such an impactful charity and contribute to the children’s development in Ben Tre.
