Vistra opens a new office in New York to be headed by Erik-Jan Schoop.

Vistra has opened a new office in New York as part of a strategic plan to expand services to US clients. The office will be headed by Erik-Jan Schoop from 1 September 2010. 

The opening of the office signifies Vistra’s ongoing commitment to offer unparalleled service to current clients and further the firm’s presence in the US. Vistra expects robust growth and expansion in the North American market and is committed to growing it’s presence and raising the service bar, not only in New York, but throughout the United States. The New York office expands Vistra’s ability to offer services to its fast growing customer-base and prospects in the US. 

Erik-Jan Schoop, who will lead the office, obtained his Law degree at the University of Leiden, where he specialized in Tax law. Erik-Jan started his professional career as a tax lawyer with Coopers & Lybrand. Via Océ he joined MeesPierson Trust as a commercial director. During the last four years, he headed the operations of another global trust provider in New York where he gained considerable experience and knowledge in assisting US clients in structuring their financial transactions and providing related trust and management services across multiple jurisdictions. Erik-Jan is fluent in Dutch, Spanish and English.
