Vistra Jersey are looking for an Operations Manager to join their Operations team reporting directly to the Managing Director. 

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for managing projects assigned by the Managing Director to deliver and realise the business benefits identified in the cost benefit analysis for the project.  The projects delivered will improve the efficiency of the business processes of Vistra, Jersey or enable new services to be delivered:

  • Manage, plan and control assigned new projects within and across department(s) and functions, to achieve a successful implementation, delivering on time and within budget. 
  • Contribute to the development and management of local IT Strategy by identifying information systems and solutions appropriate to the business in line with departmental requirements, the overall plan and strategic objectives of the organisation.
  • Direct the project tender process, proposal evaluation and contract agreements including defining technical system specifications, acceptance testing and training.
  • Direct the staff involved in the conversion, site planning and preparation and implementation for the project in order to achieve the most cost effective solutions and control the effectiveness of the implementation, ensuring compliance with Vistra policies, contractual, procedural, accounting and technical standards.
  • Undertake post-implementation reviews to determine if the projected business benefits for the project have been realised and make recommendations to ensure effective future delivery of projects within the organisation.
  • Review all department procedures on a regular basis ensuring all staff have a firm understanding of what is required from them
  • Be a critical contributor to the administration and management of FATCA & CRS tax compliance program

Qualifications and other requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years project management experience
  • Proficient in principles, methods, techniques and tools for the effective management of projects from initiation through to implementation. 
  • Proficient in methods and techniques associated with planning and monitoring progress of projects.  EG: product/work breakdown structures, critical path analysis, earned value, resource analysis, conflict resolution
  • Familiar with automated tools to assist in the project management process, by automating mechanical tasks such as scheduling, resource balancing, and time recording. EG: PMW, Microsoft PROJECT
  • Familiar with techniques which help in modelling and understanding a business and its operation
  • Hold a Project Management qualification (e.g. accredited PRINCE2 practitioner)
  • Familiar with methods and techniques for delivering effective presentations and writing effective reports
