The regulatory environment of Vistra requires in-depth knowledge of our client portfolio and the market requires specific market expertise and a quick adoption of market changes.

Therefore, Vistra Netherlands offers a great opportunity for an accomplished Client Finance Director, who will lead the financial services for our entire client portfolio.

As our Client Finance Director, you will report to the Directors CPC and the Chief Operations Officer. With regards to the financial services for the entire client portfolio, the Client Finance Director will work closely together with the respective Team Managers and make sure that the Team Managers are completely informed and up to date. Their teams consist of a balanced mix of legal and financial professionals, enabling the team to render the full bouquet of services to our clients.  

You are operationally responsible for client servicing, financial administration, tax coordination, risk management, quality of accounting / tax files, and coordination of the client portfolio you manage. You are a role model, leading by example in order to ensure that client servicing by our teams is in accordance with the highest possible standards.

Key responsibilities

Key Responsibilities 

Financial management

  • Manage the financial services of all of our teams client portfolios, ensuring client entities are professionally managed and guarded, in accordance with Dutch corporate law and regulations. You ensure timely preparation and filing of the financial statements of all client entities
  • Identify financial and fiscal aspects, queries and problems of client structures and proposed transactions
  • Act as first point of contact in highly complex financial matters and assists Team Managers in cases and procedures that might have potential exposure to clients and/or Vistra
  • Overall responsible to guide (complex) audits
  • Being critical to transaction information & documents to fulfil Vistra Netherlands compliance requirements, in particular in combination of the AML and anti-terrorist financing legislation.

Client management

  • Responsible for key clients and ensures that there is clear and frequent communication with them, as well as advisors and other stakeholders
  • Act as personal director for client entities and as proxyholder for Vistra entities
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of proactive and visible involvement in the client portfolio and transactions within the teams 
  • Active role in the financial/fiscal aspects of onboarding new clients as well as responsible for proactive communication with team members and compliance department to ensure an accurate onboarding process
  • Identify and present clear and considered cases to the Vistra Risk Committee (VRC) and Vistra Board Committee (VBC)
  • Identify and create awareness of all developments within the client structure/group and identify possible commercial and business opportunities. You have an active role with regards to selling additional products to existing clients

Team and knowledge management

  • Give active support, education, guidance, training and coaching of all financial team members in their professional development and to safeguard and improve quality in financial and tax output of the teams
  • Set up an IFRS champion team and implement a training programme for this IFRS team  
  • Drive progress on deliverables/output of the teams: annual accounts, transaction related activities, corporate income tax/VAT tax returns, DNB BFI reporting

Qualifications and other requirements

Relevant Experience & Skills

  • Profound experience (minimum of 8 years) in international accounting positions, audit, ideally within a corporate service provider, international accounting offices or multinationals
  • Leadership capabilities: proven managerial experience. You are a professional partner of clients, advisors and other stakeholders
  • Able to coach others, having the ability to bring people to the next level
  • Sound knowledge of IFRS, and the practical business understanding that is necessary to ensure interpretation of IFRS and translation into practice
  • Knowledge of, and experience with complex consolidation
  • Highly analytical and pragmatic
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including fluent written and spoken English
  • Being able to work in a high-paced and international environment

Professional Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Economics, Accounting or equivalent
  • Preferably combined with a certified Accounting (RA) qualification
