Regional IT Manager

Vistra Netherlands is recruiting a Regional IT Manager. 

As Regional IT Manager you represent IT at a regional level (e.g. Netherlands/Curacao/Malta and Cyprus). You act as a business partner for the business and the IT department. More specific, you represent IT towards the regional business and you act as a regional point of escalation for all IT issues of the Regional Management team. 

It is important you build and maintain effective relationships with all regional business stakeholders and you engage with relevant suppliers and third parties for ongoing support and service delivery. You work towards continuous improvement and you seek opportunities to maximize user satisfaction and service levels.

In this role, you manage a team of people and you are responsible for organising, coaching and reviewing the work of all the team members. You are located in Amsterdam and you will be working closely together with the other Regional IT Managers by participating in monthly organised meetings. You report to the IT Operations Director Europe. Travelling (10%-15%) can be part of the job.   


Key Responsibilities

  • Hold regular (daily/weekly) team meetings which are documented and ensure clear communication within the team;
  • Manage operational tasks and ensure evidence is maintained and available for audit exercises;
  • Organise, coach and review the work of team members: allocation of administrative support, monitoring workload of all team members, supervise holiday plans, ensure back up and hand over. Responsible for first line HR questions;
  • Engage with relevant suppliers and third parties for ongoing support and/or service delivery;
  • Actively work towards continuous improvement of externally delivered services balancing regional business needs, Vistra strategy and IT strategies, policies and procedures;
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with all regional business stakeholders;
  • Represent IT towards the regional business heads and actively share IT performance, taking in feedback and seeking opportunities to maximize user satisfaction and service levels; 
  • Act as regional point of escalation for all IT issues/questions of the Regional Management team; 
  • Work closely with the business for any changes to or requests for new services. Actively take in these needs and work closely with the wider IT organisation to address the need;
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with the different IT / BSS teams;
  • Play an active role in the development and execution of Group IT projects; 
  • Follow acquisitions and assist the Group IT Project team with the integration, when necessary.

Qualifications and other requirements

  • Completed Bachelor or Master degree;  
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical role preferably carried out in an international environment. Experience within financial services is a plus;  
  • Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience as business partner or comparable role; 
  • Broad understanding of IT systems / Networks / Services & IT Architecture; 
  • Latest ITIL qualification(s) and experience of implementing;
  • High level of Security and Compliance awareness\knowledge;
  • Experience working at a senior level in a team, managing\delivering IT services and escalation to offices in multiple jurisdictions and time zones;
  • Good understanding of budgets and effective cost management;
  • Excellent understanding of the Dutch and English language, written and verbal;
  • Ability to successfully communicate and influence with all levels (from Employees to Senior Management);
  • Adhere to internal procedures at all times and ensure deadlines are met;

  • Strong problem solving skills, knows how to prioritise work, proactive attitude and great organisational skills.
