This role has overall responsibility for the commercial performance, strategic direction, client franchise, employee management, external and regulatory relationships for the Vistra Group in the Luxembourg jurisdiction. The role reports to the Regional Managing Director, Europe and working in collaboration with the respective Divisional and Commercial leaders drives the respective divisional commercial, product and service delivery agenda for achieving profitable organic growth for the country.

This scope covers all of the Commercial, Operational and Service Delivery activities in the Luxembourg jurisdiction and leads an organization of about 250 employees.


Key Responsibilities

Clients

  • Drives the continued development of the client franchise and sales pipeline to ensure an expanding market presence, customer base and share of wallet
  • With the respective Divisions and Commercial leaders defines the appropriate Go-To-Market strategy for the country including both customer segmentation and pricing strategies and implementation framework

Commercial

  • As part of the business planning and budget cycle works closely with the different local Divisional MD’s, Group Divisional MD’s and Commercial leadership to design and implement specific local business plans in line with the group strategy and various divisions
  • Conducts regular business reviews together with the Regional MD / FD and Divisional/Commercial leadership to actively monitor performance and takes action to ensure the day-to-day performance of the business delivers to the divisional and combined (country level) targets and longer term plan
  • With the Financial Director ensures the optimal cash generation of the business through best practice working capital management for the business

Service Delivery

  • Works closely with divisional operational director(s) to ensure the quality of client services through Middle and Front Office capabilities; escalates where needed to improve same through Regional MD / Divisional MD

Functional Areas

  • Works closely with functional Heads to ensure adequate support for the country overall, enabling the functional agenda and meeting local targets in functional areas such as HR, Compliance, Marketing and Finance

Regulatory and Corporate Governance

  • Ensures that the Vistra Group builds sound and trusted relationships with the respective regulators for the jurisdiction
  • Acts as the custodian and champion of the Group’s standards of integrity, corporate governance and fiduciary responsibility ensuring that they are an integral part of the culture and business operations

Qualifications and other requirements

The successful candidate should possess the following:

  • Minimum 15 years working experience of leading an office(s) with a majority experienced in a multinational, multi service-lines environment. Be a generalist rather than a specialist.
  • Proven track record in driving organic growth through increasing revenue existing client bases while expanding portfolio through new additions.
  • Direct operational experience in jurisdictions with multiple Divisional lines
  • Strong track record in acting as a partner to senior management
  • Experience in change management; from idea inception to fully implementing changes proposed would be a distinct advantage
  • Proven experience of business planning, budgeting, and managing P&L for a business of this type
  • Solid degree in an accounting, legal or business field (academic level) or MBA
  • Strong team-player with experience with working in a dynamic organisation and able to build bridges between the different stakeholders within the organisation
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to effectively oversee multi-discipline teams and operations
  • Deriving from local market opportunities and conditions as well as Group Strategy set & drive local agenda/initiatives generating business growth
  • Ability to think outside of the box, to challenge status quo, but to do so diplomatically and collaborative manner
  • Strong communication and influencing skills; collaborative and a team player
  • Ability to establish clear and consistent market positioning in line with Group positioning allowing a consistent approach for multi-country clients
  • Culturally sensitive and experienced in dealing with multiple nationalities, business cultures
  • Ability to deal with ambiguities and work within ill-defined boundaries
