Key Responsibilities

The Business Development Director will be responsible to build and raise our Corporate Trust and Bond Trustee market within North Asia.

  • Building the local  and regional market in Corporate Trust space, Bond Trustee, Security Trustee, Facility agent, Escrow fiduciary management
  • Research and network for prospective clients and source new business referral leads through various strategies and channels
  • Build a productive pipeline and master the full process of the deal pipeline from the first contact with the client to the closing of the deal
  • Cultivate, maintain and manage strong relationships with clients and intermediaries by providing timely information and quality service
  • Formulate business development, sales and client servicing plans to achieve department targets
  • Full financial responsibility from pricing design and structure to service deliverables to ensure a profitable business model and growth path
  • Identify and maximize cross-referral opportunities to other business units where applicable
  • Responsible for coordination with Legal, Operations, Compliance and Finance teams
  • Keep current and accurate recording of all opportunities in CRM
  • Any ad-hoc projects as assigned

Qualifications and other requirements

The successful candidate should possess the following:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience within the bond and/or corporate trust space  in a business development and/or marketing capacity
  • Hands on working experience in Hong Kong financial market with strong connections with local/regional regulatory bodies
  • Previous experience in a revenue generation role with demonstrated results of growth in the product segment managed
  • Demonstrated experience in managing relationships across all industry segments and all levels
  • Proven track record to successfully launch and develop a product or brand in the local market
  • Minimum degree holder in relevant discipline
  • Masters in Marketing or Business Administration is highly regarded
  • Ability to identify client needs and market trends
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to provide non-technical explanations to technical matters, and summarize and present information in a clear, concise and accurate written and verbal format
  • Ability to manage target pressure and work within a fast pace environment
  • Self-motivated and ability to think outside the box to solve client’s issues
  • Demonstrate successful networking skills and the ability to establish a network of strategic contacts
  • Possess strong strategic and critical thinking abilities
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail
  • Possess a high degree of tact and diplomacy to handle sophisticated talks and discussions with senior representatives of corporations
  • Proficiency in MS office suite
  • Experience using Salesforce  is advantageous
  • Professional proficiency in written and oral English  is a must
  • Ability to read and write Chinese is highly beneficial
