Scrum Master – Digital Lab Europe

The Scrum Master supports the team and the Product Owner and helps them to communicate, solve problems and deliver a great product. It’s his role to teach the team all ways of agile software practices, lead all Scrum ceremonies, remove impediments and shield them from external distractions. Scrum Master brings the Product Owner and the team together and helps them to understand each other. Scrum Masters are personal coaches for team members and innovators who constantly seek ways to improve herself/himself and the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guide the team and organization on how to use scrum & agile practices and methodologies
  • Oversee scrum process and coaches the team; facilitates transparency, inspection and adaptation
  • Lead daily scrum, sprint review, and planning meetings in a way that ensures full team engagement
  • Support Product Owner on release planning
  • Remove impediments (egg., cultural barriers, logistic challenges)
  • Foster close cooperation across all team members, encourage cross-training and supporting each other
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration inside and outside the team
  • Shield the team from external interference and ensure the team is fully functional and productive
  • Foster self-organization and growth within the team
  • Generate agile mindset in COE staff and teams through conversations, coaching, and roleplaying exercises
  • Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised

Qualifications and other requirements

  • Background in engineering, technology or UX preferred
  • Experience in Agile Development, with specific Scrum Master experience preferred
  • 6+ years of software development/IT experience
  • Knowledge and experience with Agile methodology
  • Good understanding of Agile and Lean delivery principles to role model
  • Strong negotiation and leadership skills
  • Excellent oral, written communication, and presentation skills
  • Must be a strong collaborator, team player, and individual contributor
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Demonstrate ability to think both strategical and tactically
  • Brings a high energy and passionate outlook to the job and can influence those around her/him
  • Able to build a sense of trust and rapport that creates a comfortable and effective workplace
  • Passion for technology especially how they increase productivity
